Laser engraving family crest's using modern technology
All pictures have been taken by me, and none have been modified in any way, the
crest is the property of my client, and MUST NOT be copied or used in any
way, all crest rings will only be provided engraved to the original order address
I can now provide heraldry, crest engraving on my own manufactured products
in sterling silver, 9ct & 18ct gold, combining my own exceptional craftsmanship,
with technology previously unavailable for one off design because of the cost of
the laser engraving machine, and lack of knowledge to use one.
Engraved individually by an English company specialising in laser products.
Please note the quality of the engraving is determined by numerous factors, the most important being the quality of the image
which has to be provide by YOU the customer, this ideally should be presented in two forms ( 1 ) a fine black outline drawing
( 2 ) a shaded in drawing. Next the quality of the ring as the engraving depth should not exceed 1/3 of the of the thickness of
metal or the ring will suffer in later years from fatigue and break along the deapest engraved lines. For best results engraving
0.80 mm deep on a 2.50mm or over thickness head provides the results pictured on this page, and will stand up to a lifetime of
wear and tear even when in everyday use. ( 3 ) The correct size head on the ring to encompass the engraving, as a lot of detail
squeezed into too small a space will not be impressive at all. The crest in these pictures was engraved into a 15mm x 14mm head
the ring itself is in a finger size N1/2 overall weight appx. 13 grams head thickness appx 3mm in centre.
An exceptional engraving deserves an exceptional quality ring
Mine are amongs the best money can buy, each one individually handmade by me to order, at a
price which may be higher than mass produce products but as you are buying direct from the
manufacturer, are about 30% less than my competitors can provide for similar quality.
Engraving, the quality you expect is the quality you pay for
I am sure there are products which look similar to mine at 1/2 the price, and I know there are
some at almost double what I am currently charging, so why buy from me ?

So why buy from me, well I am semi retired after 40 years of manufacturing all kinds of high
quality jewellery, now with Arthritis am not so able to make more intricate designs, I am
concentrating on clunky items like signet rings which I have made since I was 14 years old and
still at school. I have NO staff (my wife even makes me tea all day), & I have NO overheads,
my 9ft x 7 ft air conditioned workshop costs me nothing to run.
More to the point I am not greedy, many retailors will charge 300% profit on everything they
touch, and even the more sensible ones will charge double what I do in order to pay their rent,
rates, staff, and other expenses, of which I have NONE. Also I am no longer registered for
VAT, so thats another 20% saving on all but the bullion price and the engravers bill.
Bottom line how much will this all cost / how long will it take / how to place an order
( A ) Quality takes time, never rush a craftsman so anticipate a minimum of 3 weeks, and at holiday times of the year
anticipate longer, because of my semi retired status, I only work when the sun don't shine, & my wife works in a school so long
summer holidays.
( B ) Laser engraving when carried out on single items like crest's will seldom cost less than £135.00 and could go up to as
much as £195.00 though this is unlikely, £40.00 less for two identical rings, up to 40% off for bulk orders.
( C ) Top quality sterling silver hallmarked signet rings from £ 65.00 maximum charge for ring when buying engraving £85.00
9ct gold cast signet rings 0% VAT, suitable thickness from £175.00 though to be honest anticipate £345.00 for a large crest.
9ct gold die stamped (the best quality in the world) due to present high bullion prices, and the fact these will include 20%
VAT which I have to pass on to the customer, presently costing in region of from £365.00 for 2.75mm head thickness.
